.SHORT TERM /THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Issued at 120 PM CDT Sat May 3 2025

The upper level low is currently situated just northeast of the CWA,
with models continuing to indicate it becoming cut-off and nearly
stationary over the Ohio Valley region into the beginning of the
week. As a result, continued to keep 30-50% pops this
afternoon, primarily along and east of Hwy 63 to account for any
energy that wraps around the system into the eastern Ozarks
bringing light rain. Some echoes are currently being observed on
radar in this vicinity. We`re not ruling out a rumble of
thunder or two, however instability remains weak, and
probability of thunder remains below 25%.

The cooler airmass continues this weekend, with afternoon
temperatures so far in the upper 50s to low 60s across the
area (as of 1:15PM), and highs on Sunday in the mid to upper
60s as well. Lows both tonight and tomorrow night are expected
to drop into the low 40s area- wide.

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Issued at 120 PM CDT Sat May 3 2025

Starting Monday, the aforementioned upper level low will begin
to move off to the northeast, with mid-level heights rising over
the region. As a result, a warmer air mass will begin to push
into the area from the west, bringing highs in the upper 60s/low
70s west of Hwy 65, and the mid to upper 60s east of Hwy 65.

Another upper level low over the western CONUS will begin to push
towards the region during the middle of the week, bringing
additional precipitation to the area. With this still several days
out, discrepancies between ensembles continue to exist. However
shower and thunderstorm chances (30-75%) return as early as
Tuesday afternoon, lingering into Thursday night. As we get
closer to this time period, more specific details on rainfall
amounts, thunderstorm chances, etc. will be hashed out.

Afternoon highs will generally warm into the 70s through next
week, however additional rainfall could keep temperatures in the
60s.

.AVIATION /18Z TAFS THROUGH 18Z SUNDAY/...
Issued at 1155 AM CDT Sat May 3 2025

VFR conditions are expected at the terminals through the entire
period. BBG may see intermittent, brief periods of MVFR as a
cumulus field is visible on satellite, however this is expected
to be shortlived. Northwesterly surface winds will continue
gusting up to 15-20kts through this afternoon before
diminishing by late evening.
