Overview

A deep trough over the Midwest and a moist, buoyant warm sector lead to a line of strong storms over southern central Indiana. As a squall line organized and enveloped cells downstream, bowing segments lead to damaging winds and broad rotation in a bookend vortex radar signature. This region of broad rotation eventually lead to a brief tornado in Southeastern Decatur county. Straight line wind damage also occurred along the path of the bowing segment with significant damage noted along Lake Monroe where boat docks were damaged.

Summary: The only damage was to a lean-to roof and wall on the east side of a farm outbuilding. This section was demolished with debris thrown to the north and north-northwest. A small horse trailer was picked up and thrown to the north side of County Road 800S. There were no scour or drag marks visible in the ground from where the trailer originally sat. A 2x4 was driven into the ground about 20 yards north of the damaged building. Sheet metal roofing and wood were thrown between 200 and 400 yards to the north and north-northwest. No other damage was found in the area.
