Severe thunderstorms are expected from central Texas to middle Tennessee and Kentucky this afternoon into tonight. Large hail and damaging winds are the main threats. Heavy to excessive rainfall may produce areas of flooding today and tonight from central Texas into the lower Mississippi Valley.

Allison (Allie) Allen is the 博体育 Analyze, Forecast, and Support (AFS) Director. In this role, she oversees both the AFS Portfolio and the AFS Office, including the 11 national service programs (tropical, space, severe, public, winter, water, marine, tsunami, fire, aviation, and climate) and the mission support programs. The AFS portfolio supports budgetary, planning, policy, and execution aspects of field operations and is responsible for translating field and programmatic requirements into annual operating plans.
Allie previously served as the 博体育 Chief of the Marine, Tropical and Tsunami Services Branch from 2016 to 2021. Prior to coming to 博体育, Allie spent 14 years as an oceanographer at the National Ocean Service’s Center for Operational Oceanographic Products and Services from 2002 to 2016.
Allie holds a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University School of Business and her Bachelor’s Degree from Colgate University. She is married with two daughters and calls Maryland home.
