1.) Choose the "Observation Type" in the bottom right
- METAR is primarily automated data from airports (ASOS/AWOS).
- Each observation period runs from 12:00am to 11:59pm local standard time.
- The time range adjustment in the bottom right has NO EFFECT on this data.
- COOP is the 博体育 Cooperative Observer Network.
- Observation period varies by station.
- Most observations are taken in the morning (i.e. 7am to 7am)
- Therefore the "Max Temperature" typically occurred on the previous day.
- Some reports are at "non-standard" times. Adjust the time range to include these stations.
2.) Click the button to select/deslect states. Data is reloaded after clicking out of the popup window.
3.) Choose the date and element to display in the bottom left.
The URL updates dynamically as new states are loaded, making it easy to bookmark your preferred observation type and combination of states.
Data is sourced from the which aggretates data from a variety of sources. This database is relatively accurate, although
errors are possible.
